Alright, so I've been doing some research on what my baby looks like right now. It's kind of scary to know that I'm a human petri dish for a human life form. Especially one that I'm going to unconditionally love. Ha. I think too much, so hush.
This week my baby is growing the nose, mouth, and ears. And the eyes and nostrils are just starting to form. The arms and legs are just wee little nubs right now. The heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as mine — and blood is beginning to course through the body. The intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to the lungs have appeared. The pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of the brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, my baby is a quarter of an inch long. You can fit about 14 of my babies on top of a quarter. Really tiny!
This is what my baby looks like now:
Since the ears are beginning to develop this week, guess what that means for me? MUSIC TIME! XD
